When most people think about marital intimacy, they think about sex. But intimacy is a whole lot more than becoming one physically; it happens on the emotional, sexual and spiritual levels. God’s design for marriage is that you experience the fullness of love on all three levels.
Unfortunately, intimacy doesn’t “just happen.” Ever since Adam and Eve sinned in the Garden of Eden, men and women have been hiding their deepest selves from one another. That’s why intimacy takes work.
However, there is hope! Because God is the designer of marriage, He made you and your spouse and knows both of your hearts, He knows how to help you connect on all three levels.
Granted, intimacy can be one of the most frightening and challenging things you’ll ever experience, but it can also be one of the most rewarding and satisfying parts of life.
