The Federal Trade Commission is cracking down on the porn spam that clutters your email inbox. The agency recently settled a complaint with spammer Cyberheat for almost half a million dollars. FTC spokeswoman Sana Chriss says the case “stems from a crackdown on x-rated spam that we initiated in July 2005.” The FTC claims the overall volume of porn spam is decreasing because of the crackdown. You can help. When you receive a spam message forward it to the FTC at spam@uce.gov.
