Michael's Music Skyrockets In the wake of Michael Jackson's death, sales of his music—both CDs and downloads—have skyrocketed. Amazon sold out of its Jackson and Jackson 5 CDs within a day of news of the singer's death. Bill Carr, Amazon's vice president of music and video, commented, "We've taken more orders for Jackson CDs and MP3 products in the last 24 hours than we did in the previous 11 years." Specifically, sales spiked a factor 700 times higher from Wednesday to Thursday after the news of the singer's death was released. Digital sales of Jackson's music told a similar story.
